Default SVO's

Hi guys i have always liked the look of svo's and was just browsing through car sales looking at ones for sale. I had a few questions about them though.

As far as performance goes i doubt hey are anything special being just the standard ford six, is that right? Do they come with extras like better brakes, LSD better suspnsion etc, or are they just cosmetically different?

Also what exactly were they ment to be, are they similar to the ESP's the XE came in "european sports package". To be honest i dont even know what svo stands for? And also who made them, were they a totally ford creation or did some other company build them? If anyone can answer these multiple questions I appreciate it , thanks.

mick webb created them , most were either spacs or ghias , if orig should have bilistein suspension ,lsd ,recaros ,minor body enhancments , I owned/drove one for a few years and was a very excellent car ,just happens I found another later model car with similar stuff as the old ones that I have now
SVO = special vehicle operations

my old beast

SVO's were never about being straight line quick they were all about handling. The suspension was reworked with Bilstin shocks, Lovels lowered springs, and Whiteline sway bars. They got a LSD, along with extractors and a 2.5 inch exhaust with high flow cat.
After speeking to Mick Webb some came with cams and mild head work, at one stage.

here is the options list

There were a run of SVO's release by southside ford in brisbane but these were EL's and only in V8s.

EFFalcon - do you think it would be a good idea to start a thread where everyone post 1 pic of there car, it would make for a nice database of sorts.

Umm, there's already a sticky at the top of this page called Members Cars. There's plenty of pics in there, and there is always the Show us ya EA-ED and EF/EL threads in show and shine forum.
