Question Bolle window tint?

Hi all, has anyone got the Bolle window tint on their cars from Tint-a-Car?

I did a search and all I could find was someone got quoted $545 for it!?!

Thanks I'll have to call into TintaCar and see if they've got any cars done I can see. Hopefully the price is a bit lower than $545!

It's actually for the wife's Mazda 6 - it is a sort of dark blue/ green metallic colour. It might look OK?

I'm aware of a $100 off voucher on the Internet, but that's only valid in Vic. :(

Out of interest after some Googling it appears Tint A Car has a licensing agreement with Bolle to use their name for whatever type of tint the "Bolle" stuff is.

So, basically it isn't some new fangled tint that's made by Bolle......... No wonder I couldn't find any info on it overseas except for NZ where Tint A Car operate as well.

I take it you're sunglasses were still on when you read that post and your prescription reading glasses were somewhere useful to you like the bottom of a fish tank and didnt notice the "...end sarcasm mode" line, where it would imply to most people that he doesnt give a shit about sunglass companies making tint????

perhaps????

I take it you meant to say that 'Bushnell Outdoor Products' own Bolle and Serengeti.

Or perrrrrrrrrhaps I did see the whole post, and posted the reply as a joke? :

I thought it was ironic that comment was posted and Bolle / Serenghetti (however it's spelt?) are made by the same people. At least it wasn't wasted on everyone....

PS: You guys are a touchy bunch..... and good to see you did some research Gasoline. : A bit too late though!

tant-a-car tints are only rebadged films from the cautalds / llumnar /martens energy products company.

pay extra for a fancy name and flash marketing.

SHOP AROUND first.

there are better quality films out there.

Dave, thanks for the info. I've actually gone of it a bit since discovering it's all just a marketing ploy for who knows what brand tint- it's possibly not the "special" tint they claim it to be...

What other brands do you reckon are better? I've been looking at the SunGard range- they have a lot more options for darkness of the tint (which is important in an anal state like SA- we've got the strictest tint standards in Aust. apparently...)

g`day murcod

from my experience (owned my own tint shop for 9 years , sold it early this year so i have no reason to play favorites anymore ) i found that the 3M tints seemed about the top of the pile. 3m claim to be the original inventors of window film and seem to be the first to come out with major new technology.
i have their carbon based BLACK 35 film on my car. gives the blackest apperance from inside and exellent vision from inside as a 35% VLT film.

another company with very good products is the Bekaert with their Solargard range of films. not to be confused with Sungard.

i would regard either of these companies as the best to deal with and give the best customer support. they also stand out in that the australian supply system is controlled and supported by the manufacturing company. instead of import companies that sell products under licence.

i have not used sungard products for a long time but their old films used to fade something bad.

Lots of cheap Korean films hitting the shops in the last couple of years. quality = ????????????
warranty backup = i would be very wary. if a shops main interest is in getting the cheapest unproven products , how much can you depend on them helping out when things go pear shaped?

Thanks for the tips- I've tried searching for 3M dealers in Adelaide but haven't been able to locate any (their website is also useless...) I've just found the Solargard website and they don't list any automotive retailers in SA either!?

I'll make some phone calls tomorrow. Cheers!
