Mk 1 or Mk 2?
I have a spare Mk 1 MC you can have for $25. I'd recommend getting a reco kit (about $20) from any parts store. It worked fine on my Mk 1 van but I've just upgraded to Mk 2 struts, discs and calipers, so I had to swap the MC to the later Mk 2. Give me a call on 0401 881 379 if you are interested.
