As was said before...it comes down to the buyer and what they want. Somebody who wants a '65 Mustang shell will look at this.

Each person to his own.

I know little about Mustangs, but maybe these aren't common, plus the potential is taken into account.

to get a good, rust free shell that will require little work to get to a paint shop, will cost easily that much

it seems you know little about mustangs..
the top one you posted is a fastback they're much much more desireable than the notchback type in the last 2 links..

that fastback restored would sell for 30k+

EDIT...you pipped me to it...

Also for some, a plain shell is preferred as it allows the owner to customise the look of the car, rather than change what is currently complete.
Some people also just enjoy restoring cars and for them, it isn't about the money.

I'll just wait until this thread fades away into the depth of history.

Dosn't seem to bad, Dad just brought a 66 coupe in from the states for the same money it pretty original sraight no rust and a goer, But we looked for a fastback and your paying 15000 US for a rust bucket dosn't seem like a bad buy.

If i new about it about 6 months ago i may have purchased it lol.

It all depends on what you want, you may have a motor sitting in the shed just waiting for a resto like this, mustang parts are cheap and you can get everything from bumper to bumper new. Paint & panel work costs the same, all depends on what job you want, they run falcon front ends so parts are on the shelf. The only difference from a mustang and an xy for example is the inital outlay for the car.
