after losing the first 2 exhibition matches 6-4, 6-3 and 7-6, 7-6; sampras has fought back in the 3rd match to beat federer 7-6 (10-8), 6-4. federer claims that if sampras were still playing today he would be top 5. i'm no tennis fanatic but i do enjoy watching the big names play. i do agree with sampras though (another article i read after one of the other matches) that players today don't have the same strategy of yesteryear. they just stand down by the baseline and see who can hit it the hardest. was awesome watching the tennis back then with sampras, agassi, chang, lendll , ivanisivic, russian guy(not safin) and many others. obviously not everyone is into tennis so if that's you, don't bother posting. |

I loved watching Sampras and Agassi.
They were in a leage of their own. Sampras was always cool and calm, and agassi like a storm ready to go off. The guys that made the tennis I say.

I'm not big on tennis myself, but I'm stoked to hear that Sampras stopped the Fed' Express! I honestly thought Federer would win all 3 without breaking a sweat.
Althought Federer is currently the worlds best, it nice to see him humbled. Rodger will go down in the books as the greatest Tennis player ever when he finally retires, without a doubt. |

AMEN BROTHER!! Pete Sampras is a tennis god, his by far the most complete player to ever play the game. I f he were to have his time over again against the poor quality opposition Federer has today he woud have over 20 GRAND SLAMS under his belt.

As good as Sampras was (big fan) these games were only exibition matches, Federer definitely wasn't playing to the best of his abilities in any of the matches not to mention that it's the end of the season for Roger so i'm guessing he would be getting tired after a big year of tennis.
Admittedly I didn't watch the 3rd match but there was a lot of fun and games in the first 2 matches and you could see that there was no intensity in the matches. No doubt if Federer was playing with his usual focus and the match was played during the tennis season all three would have been a whitewash i'm afraid. Well done to Sampras though, proves he's still got it! |

The thing is this was an exhibition match, nothing is really at stake, its just a for-fun game. Not saying Sampras is crap or anything (idolised him back when he was around) but if it was a real match, then Federer probably could have done better. But of course, i didnt wath the match, so im not 100% sure, maybe pete does still have it
edit: hehe austytyphoon beat me to it |

Edberg !
Great to see Sampras playing again even if its only an Exhibition match. Proves that he still has it for sure.
