Did anyone just see that on 60 minutes? The war on drugs in Mexico is insane, it literally is a WAR. Police were all armed with M4s and shootouts were just happening in the middle of the street, even showed a police chase where a Texas unit was chasing a black 4wd loaded with drugs, drove over the border into Mexico where the Mexican army met up with them and took aim at the Police, loaded the drugs onto their Humvee and torched the 4wd and took off back into Mexico.

Yes... I saw it.
Couldn't believe it. This "Rambo" has got some balls. However he will end up like most others who go against the Mob / Mafia / Drug Cartels..... Feel sorry for his family, under continual police gaurd and in hiding... Yeah... they don't muck around there. Watching the people who gunned down the cops in the car being marched out of the station was interesting.. you could tell they had the shizer beaten out of them during their 'questioning'. |

Not at all feeling sorry for the cartels but the average foot soldier is motivated by poverty. Desperate people do desperate things. This is what greed creates. So sad to hear they hurt women and kids and not just themselves. Inexcusable..Is this what the whole world will look like in a few more years? Maybe.

what realy pee's me of is the amount of money that america invest in the drugs not getting into america billions of $ and then they have a whinge about having no money and going into depression or recession or whatever maybe if the $ where used more wisely there may not be a world crisis about to happen because the american economy is about to fall over

If they legalised all this stuff the whole crime problem would instantly disappear.
Then a short time later several other problems would disappear...... |

apparently mexico is also the kidnap capital of the world - they prey on lone tourists at the airport and masquerade as cab drivers
they then march you to ATMs and demand you max out your credit cards. happened to a work associate and my boss wonders why i refuse to go to Mexico for a work trip....they can keep the business class flights..... |

During the interview with the new police chief, two of his men got shot dead in the street while they were talking.
They managed to make ONE arrest though.

Things are absolutely crazy over there.. i've read stories in the papers with people being murdered, decapitated & their heads sent to police stations. Other bodies are found beaten to a pulp with their tongues cut out..
One of our plants in Mexico even sent out a global notification stating that no-one is to visit unless it is absolutely 100% necessary. They even published rules about how to dress, act etc etc. Crazy stuff.. |

Ahh,... that makes sense. I also heard that N.S.W was put there to keep Victorians out of QLD just that much longer.

Wow everyone is now so informed about a crisis in a completely different country after watching a 10 minute segment on 60 Minutes.
And next week, 'why butter is better for you than margarine; what the manufacturers aren't telling us'.
