I had to replace my alternator, so I pulled off the belt, which was easy enough. Now I've changed units and have to put it on, but I can't see how you do it without having another person there to hold the tension on the belt.
I have a gregories manual, but it doesn't explain it too much very well. Cheers. |

you need a 3/8th's drive ratchet with a long handle (or pipe over the handle).
Put the belt on every pulley except powersteering pulley, then push the handle towards the passenger side guard (turning it clockwise) and lift the belt over the p/s pulley. Should also mention where the ratchet goes  on the belt tensioner (thing the 2 idle pulleys are attached to) there is a square cutout that the drive of the ratchet fits into. |

should have a picture of how the belt goes on on the bonnet, anyways
feed the belt through the tensioner and the other pullys but leave the belt off the power steering pump, so get your self in postion and pull as hard as you can to stretch the belt to get it over the power steering pully, leave the tensioner lose so you can do this, then redo the tensioner back up. easiest way my mate did it
