Default What to buy for my car

I dont know if this is ment to be in here but being new to the AU im not sure about them.

Ive got $3000 to spend on my AU II manual and im wondering what is the best thing to get for it.

It has nothing special atm, just stock mags, speakers, head unit.

Being a newbie at thit whats best to fix/replace to give my car some kick to it.

*note im a P plater so dont get any ideas about me getting turbo or some rocket fuel injector :

What do you want? Looks? Nice exhaust without being too loud? Little bit of extra poke?

$3000 hey?

Eibach SL springs - $279
Monroe GT gas shocks - $400
Camber caster kit - $120
2 1/2 inch cat back exhaust - $300
Airbox - $220
KandN pod - $100
Second hand 18's - $1000
T20 tint - $300
Aufalcon rear 1/4 window stickers - $30

Total - $3028

Then if you stumble across a little more, get these and it will really top it off:
Clear front indicators - $30
S2/3 rear lights - $60
Clear number plate holders with the black lines through them - $25

Thumbs up

Sparkling Bugundy (B5).

Lovely colour, if I say so myself! LOL!

As for the 3K.

If your car is stock, I'd go Pacemaker Extractors $400-500,
2.5 cat back Redback mandrel bent exhaust. $400-500.
3.45 diff gears (second hand) for around $200 plus fitting.
XR6T intake $50.

I'd also do the spring and shock work. It depends on how low you want to go, but if it were my car, I wouldn't go lower than XR height (King Low equivalent).

I've been in a manual sedan (apart from my own) with Pedders Sports Rider gas shocks on King low springs and it's handled terrific. My own manual rides well on Tickford XR springs and Pedders Sports Rider shocks, but I reckon the Tickford springs are a little rougher than the King items.

All the best with your deliberations and spending.

GK

You'll have a car that drives and handles so much better after these mods.

If your on a budget hang around the market place here and see what pops up.

Without a shadow of a doubt lowering an AU makes the most difference. Heck a S3 Fotre with hubcaps can look good with just a lowering.

What model is it? That will help with what mods will have the most impact. Is it a XR being manual?

I brought my 17' FG G6E rims wit tyres for $1400 from a sit sponser so you can get something nice for under $1500 easy.

Id prioritize lowering, tints, full exhaust, clear repeaters.

Dont worry about the body kit, most of the nicest AU's I have seen dont have one, maybe the side skirts if you really want it to look lower.

Got pics of your car now?

Definetly worth getting a average to good sound system, makes it more enjoyable to drive, after that exhaust and lowering.

appoligies for poor quality, cheap *** phone camera xD

any way as u can see its pretty basic and on the drivers door there is a dint and a sizeable whole coverd by gaffa tape, and the other bad door is rear passenger door on left side where the black skirt thing in the middle has been reefed off the door and a pretty bad dint.

Do the door skins, and paint trims white. Leave the mags, if they are rashed or whatever, get them sanded and re painted.
Put it on SL's, T20 tint and clear repeaters and it will look horn
