Default ink on timber floor... how to get rid of?

as title says in the house i am currently in the process of leaving moved the couch and found a pen that over summer has leaked and there is a nice blue patch. wondering how to get it out? would some kind of a buffer that will take it out of the polish? so far all ive really tried is eucalyptus oil.

any help would be great

I would try WD40 as a start but failing that somthing like nail polish remover (go gently and try in an inconspicuas place first) it shouldnt be to bigger deal

Clear PVC pipe cleaner would be the best bet.

Best way I have found is spray the stain with hairspray...Yes... Hairspray! and then blot the stain with a damp cloth. Rinse and repeat..do not rub it or it will spread!

If you are not confident to try that, then the chemist sell this product called "Pen Off" Brilliant stuff...gets texta, pen, marker stains off anything

Let us know how you go.

Cheers
Col

just need hair spray lol although im thinking (cant believe i havnt thought of it) im assuming it is the alcohol content in the spray cause i remember when getting in trouble in school and having to clean desk id just spray with deo and be done in no time while the rest were left scrubbing lol

Honestly...it works! I think it could be the alcohol content in it

I try and use as little chemical based products around my house as possible and most of my cleaning remedies come from old school cleaning books from the 40's and 50's...Those old girls really knew how to clean a house without all this modern day, chemically enhanced products...it is cheaper too!

If you can't find any penoff use some nifty assuming it's a sealed floor , might need a light and I mean light with a red brillo pad or a worn green
nifty is found at woolies usually or maybe iga

decided a picture would help as the stain was quiet baked on/ hardened but came up with a little bit of encouragement and a can of deo

before

after

stil a very slight blue haze but should get away with it

Hairspray is brilliant - used it once to get nailpolish out of cream coloured carpet.
