What does it mean to be a Ford fan? I like my Fords, especially the falcons. I like escorts more than toranas, i like customlines better than 57 chevs, I like sierra cosworths better than commodores.
But if ford do not have aproduct that i like as a consumer, i will not buy it, much the same as for the holden product.
As an example - i looked at the w427 - but could not come at the disgusting red bogan interior. I looked at the GTE - but i hate woodgrain with a passion: It makes me think "not long until i have to use nanna nappies and will have to excuse myself everytime i sneeze".

So i look at what appeals to me and my needs. I like the audi rs4. I like the BMW M stuff. I like the c63 AMG. But each has its own reason why i did not buy one.

So as a consumer of the ford product, i have bought new 2 xr6 turbos, 1 BA GTP, and an EL xr8. Second hand I have purchased an EB xr8, xr6 turbo, 2 xa falcons, 2 xb falcons and an xc falcon. And anything else? Yes - a disco 2, pajero, and 2 commodores. So I would say on the balance of things I purchase Fords. I like them, but i am not blinded by stupidity and what marketeers love - brand allegiance....

As horny as the E1 Maloo looks I made a terrible mistake selling my F6 and jumping the fence and it cost me big time, I couldn't wait to get back into a FI FPV...And here I am!

I considered one, but after 3 turbos in a row I wanted a v8 rumble again. Just a personal thing. I really missed a v8 daily driver since i sold my elxr8.

Same as you, had four turbos in a row and just wanted something different thus went the 8 this time around.

There's just something about rumbling into the woolies carpark to buy milk lol
I miss driving my clevo zj everyday too, can't wait for my next car to be driving as much as I love my ba ghia

GTP Owner, that was a great read, and gives those of us who would never be seen test driving a GTS an idea as to what they're really like

There's no money in them that's why...

Some of the prices advertised on carsale's are a $5,000 - $10,000 loss to sell, especially on GS and F6... GT isn't as bad as people are still prepared to pay well into the $60,000 to get one.

HSV is in the same predicament with runout E3 sales, at 53 kay for a Clubsport dealers are probably losing 4 - 5 grand, but they have to move them.

They would rather sell you another Ranger where they know they can make a few g!

Dealers would be getting money back from Ford/Holden to move them.

Well done and nice car mate, as much as this is a Ford Forum...the HSV is a good setup. My mate has the E3 GST and when comparing to my GT, the HSV definitely feels like a step up over the Commodore and is more of a complete package, in my opinion. It may not be as quick as the GT but when I have driven the GTS spirited around some bends, I definitely had more confidence.

Although there is nothing like sitting in the GT or the XR8 and looking over the bulge.....

I recently sold my VE SSV daily and went back to a BF2 XR8 for a daily and the one big downside for me with the VE (and now VF), is it felt like a big car, whereas the Ford feels a little more smaller and compact. Plus the Commodore interior for me was woeful, I know the HSV interior is an improvement.

But all the best with the HSV mate.

I suppose how much you want to spend might be key factor but I can understand going C63 or M3 or something like that, it's not seen as jumping the fence like going from Ford to Holden or vice versa if your a bommodore fan.

Why discriminate between brand - whats nice is nice full stop.

I think jumping the fence would be going from an Aussie built performance car into something like an imported Samsung fiesta , sorry correction Ford Fiesta.

Not that much. They get probably 5 - 6 kay incentive from Ford, some cars are a $16,000 rip.

Do you have any evidence to substantiate that? As a (different brand) sales manager I'd find it hard to get my head around a loss of that magnitute on just one vehicle..

Glad your happy with your new ride.
Ive always been a ford man my whole life and ive owned 2 eb ghia v8s,89 laser ghia,xb ute,eb 4.0,ef 4.0,el v8,au v8,t2 te50,mk 2 ba xr8,2012 fg turbo ute.
Ive always stuck with the ford brand even if it meant buying a car i wasnt really keen on.
After owning the fg for 14000km and having nothing but issues with it,issues aside the driveline is very clunky,i wished id have got a new ss ve ute instead of sticking with ford.
i like the look of the fg ute but the quality is absolute rubbish, id never buy another new ford ever again,so called die hard ford fans would rather put up with lacklustre build quality and say theyd never jump the fence rather than own a good car...
Most wont be happy with my comments but ive been conditioned by the quality of my new ford...
Im glad you got something your happy with.
I love the look of the ve hsv

Well I have a 8 month old FG2 GT that i bought from new and what a dream it is to own and drive. Have you driven one Sticky Ninja? Before jumping ship for price. There are plenty of GTs for sale with maybe 20kms on the clock for late $50k...
