How to replace an AU forte evaporator temperature sensor?

Can the evaporator temperature sensor be replaced in au forte without pulling the dash and heater box apart?

I think I have a faulty one as the air conditioner clutch is cutting out before the air coming out of the vents is cold enough. That is assuming it isn't cutting out on high temp or low pressure in the refrigerant side?

Does anyone have the functional specification of a non climate control au falcon. Looking at the wiring diagrams on these forums it appears the ecu controls the air conditioner operation. The higher the fan speed the lower the evaporator temperature before the ac compressor clutch disengages.
