Default Tail lights on EBAY

Hi all, has anyone bought a set of the tail lights that are on EBAY. Are they easy to install/wire, quality? What is the general concensus on how they look?

Cheers all.

thats a very broad question, exactly what tail lights are you talking about

some fit in no worries, some need different globes, some need loom mods....
some are good quality whereas others leak and fade and go crap...

need more information

usually...you get what you pay for.....some are straightfoward swaps where others, as MADNC pointed out, need a little work. try to get the seller to tell you the manufacturer so you can do a little homework but being they are only tail lights, iwould assume you will be fine. don't quote me though. some ebay sellers are dogs

they arent my cuppa tea, but from what ive seen, they dont look too bad quality wise ....(had a look at one the other day at the local ford spares...).
unsure how they'd go with leaks and whatnot though.

if thats what tickles ya fancy, give em a go, its only money and they're only tail lights....
not the end of the world if they screw up and you have to put the originals back in...

Hi Outbackjack

We were going to be selling these BA tail lights but have rejected them as there was a fitment issue with them that you needed to drill new mounting holes in the lights as they didnt line up?!?! :

so we arent supplying these yet as they are not up to scratch - a new shipment is coming in mid next month and we will let everyone know as soon as we get them what theyre like and how to get your hands on them.

check out our site for updates www.awcinfo.com

Some replacments bear an "E mark" on the lens. (An E in a circle with a number next to it, which represents the country where the lamp design was tested for world homologation - for all its functions, other codes represent the actual functions of the unit - F00=Rear Fog, AR1 = Reverse etc)

Where so, consider these as stamps of Compliace/Uniformity for ADR and with National Vehicle Standards. In effect, they should not fade or crack with use.

You could not say the same for example with the original VR-VS Commodore tail units, here, the reflectors turn white (clear) with age, so the car on approach momentarily - looks as though its on your side of the road, if you follow! These lamp units were not E marked, but DOTARS merely accepted the 'Evidence of Compliance' that they did comply, as they usually do with such 'evidence'.

Too much trust. This 'administrative system' allowed for the hideously glary VX-VY front fogs to sneak on through. (Issue fixed).
