Hi all first post here.
I own a 99 au1 fairmont. It has the standard chrome and honeycomb grille like this http://www.fordforums.com.au/photos/...cat=594&page=1 my question is what other grilles can fit, i dont know too much about the T series so i was wondering if someone could tell me if they fitted. maybe something like this http://www.fordforums.com.au/photos/...cat=597&page=1 or http://www.fordforums.com.au/photos/...cat=600&page=1 I know ill have to replace/paint the chrome bonnet mould. any tips or recomendations would be much appreciated i live in south eastern melbourne (moorabin) thanks Andrew |

From those shots the T series grilles look like they intergrated into the bumper bar so i would not think it would be a simple process if you want to keep your standard bumper. You would need to replace the whole front bar , not just the grille....

T series grill are intergrated into the bumber. The AU II and III had a different bonnet and hence a different grill that will not fit your AU I. XR grills - I dont know if they fit. They have the same boonet, so maybe the grill will fit. You could get the grill off a AU XL or XLS ute, they will also fit.

For a high series bonnet, pretty much the only grills you can get are:
- Standard Falcon/Futura Grill - Honeycomb (Fairmont) Grill - C2R Grill Otherwise for a low series bonnet you can get: - Cheescutter Grill - Ute Grill - Hawk/SVO Grill - C2R Grill Otherwise you could make something custom like it. And if you put a grill to suit a low series bonnet, if you put it on a high series bonnet, of course your going to have a gap.
