Trouble is there are only (I think) 4 Australian made car models and one Australian made SUV, all in the medium size category. The growth is in the small segments. Maybe it's unpatriotic to buy a Nissan instead of a Falcon or a Kluger instead of a Territory but its hard to take it much further than this. The Australian car industry (like other Australian manufacturing) is on the slips because of national economic policies, labour costs etc. And Australia is a small peanut internationally whereas the US isn't. So not much to compare on. Just enjoy the last Australian-designed AND manufactured cars while they're still here.
And US designed and made cars are c...p compared to Australian ones - little wonder Americans are buying Toyotas.

The avalon isn't around anymore.
And the luxury Camry is the Grande. Isn't the 380 Luxury still called Verada?

Luxo Camry's are Grande and Azura, just looked. Interestingly, Azura is priced and placed above Grande ($49k vs $46k).

Buy your kids a Job, Buy Australian Made
A campaign that only lasted a couple of years supported by govt etc with the Aust Design awards. It was a true then as today, if you do not buy Aussi made and your neighbour does not buy Aussie made then we are all stuffed, it won't matter how well you educate your children, How proficent you are at your trade we will become the banana Repuplic as one Queen bum pinching prime minister once remarked. This is not just cars, it even comes down to the cheap fruit and seafood being imported by our Discount chains.

But where are the small cars in that list Steffo?
There are some excellent locally made medium cars but the local industry has missed the bus in the big growth sectors. (I'd still buy Australian where possible though.)
