I wanted 2 kno that when I had the ED! but I was sellin it anyway...
A mechanic quoted roughly $100-$200 labour to fit... $250-$350 for an AU XR6 intake manifold (which is better).

Thats without:
The air intake box needs to b modified / changed. And wiring needs to come out of the AU and sparky needs 2 attack it from what I was told.
But I am not 100% sure... There are a few people on here wif EL / AU intakes on their EA-ED's... so the answer is out there

Show us sum pix of progress when you do it, matee, i would b interested in known how its done myself...

EF taxi has the same inlet manafold to an AU3 XR6 VCT.
Wiriing loom can stay stock. Just add one pin for BBM switching and two for thermos when combined with an EL ecu. Will also have to lengthen the IAC/TPS wires

One of the most recent mechanical mods has been to update the intake with an EL Ford variable manifold. This went on easily, with just a couple of quick wiring modifications and requiring the setting up a rev switch to trigger the vacuum canister that alters runner length. The switch is derived from a ChipTorque shift light. With another Lachlan Riddel chip re-write to suit the MAP-sensed variable induction system, the car has now picked up even more power - a total of 152kW at the wheels - but with a heap more useable torque

How much power gains would you get from putting xr6 manifold on 2 a gli or is it a waste of time ? :sm_drool:

I reakon its a waste of time.

Other than looking pretty I think it would do SFA. Some people say you get a little more torque down low but its all been subjective so far.

Im sure it does something, its just teh CBF factor I think.
