hotdogs are just a bigger section of pipe with some bumps in it, they do absolutely nothing to make a car quieter - get a proper muffler, preferably two of them, offset straight through, it will be a lot quieter, probably sound better, and be almost legal (I had my car tested by the nice policemen when it had one large straight through muffler on it, came up 102db....legal is 90...resulted in a defect notice :S) I got another straight through one put on at the back and it brought it down to 92db...still did a 14.5...

Sorry guys, stupid me yes i HAVE a resi already NOT a hot dog. I also got 92db with this system after the resi and i have one muffler i think its around 350mm in size and is located near the driver's side rear wheel arch. The main problem is the freeway, the sound kind of rings in my ears, too much cabin noise. How did you get rid of the cabin pulsating sound if you got 92db as well? It only really got worse after i fitted my high flow cat but it's always been a little annoying especially during long trips. I could just change the muffler for a smaller one at a cheap cost right?

get two proper mufflers, either in addition to or instead of the resinator, and possibly change the tip - to a 45 degree 'dump' or something, or twin tips instead of a single big straight one, if thats what you have...
