Default Wombat 1, Ghia 0

...The result of a wombat on the road...

This happend a couple of nights ago, its my brothers EF ghia, this happend only 2 weeks after buying it off my farther. He was doing about 80 in the wet, came round a corner and saw a wombat, got the on brakes but unfortunely ended up skidding off into an imbankment and rolling it..

P.s, The wombat and my brother escaped major injury...

Unfortunate, did it have insurance? Does it have a tickford motor in it he might want to sell?

Yeah its got insurance, with a bit of luck AAMI will pay up with no worries... I don't think it has a tickford motor, but if the insurance for some reason don't pay out I offered my bro $1000 for it cause I wan't the engine & seats ...

The only real injury Ghia5L was two of his bottom teeth got pushed through his lip by the air bag.

Dave, you love wombats, don't you. Damage a bit more severe than yours though!

Damn. He was lucky. That car is a mess.

Just came back from the crash site, hes drivin off to the left, into a deep/steep ditch then rolled to the left in the ditch which caused the roof to hit on the imbankment/a tree... Kind of hard to explain with out pics.

He might have been better to not swerve, the wombat would have seen better day's and the vehicle might have some damage but atleast he wouldn't have rolled and wouldn't have to worry about looking for another vehicle, I know it's hard in situition's like that but you should never swerve.

i think it would be natural instinct to swerve... just like you might see a cardbord box on the road even if its flat you never know.. it might have nails(like those factory thick staples or something that will screw your tyre(s) up.

When I was there taking those pics today I also removed the new head unit that I only fitted for him a couple of nights ago and re-fitted the stock one, removed the new battery and replaced with original one thats on its last legs. I had also planned to remove the new splits in the front doors but they don't open so there was no chance of getting the trim off, also wanted to get back the $250 worth of head light globes that we fitted the other week but they're all smashed... Ah well at least theres no great loss in all of this.

Everyone else that has seen it has said basically the same...Hes one lucky mo fo. Hmm I've got to go back there today to put some speakers in the parcel shelf, apparently insurance companies are known for downing the value of a car due to its sound system being raided.. :( Only putting the stock crap back in though...

Probably not the best idea telling the world about raiding the car before the insurance people pay out!

We're not raiding it, we're removing the aftermarket gear and returning it to stock I.E head unit & speakers.
