I would really be careful with sending him an email....

There is something extremely dodgy about saying people have to email him before bidding or he will cancel there bids..
Ebay doesn't work that way surely??!!

I would put money on being an absolute scam...

was speaking to a guy this arvo who has been bitting on a monaro where the auction ended yesterday or today. He won the bidding for somewhere just under 28k. It was in melbourne, so after the auction ended he asked the seller when they could meet so he could inspect the vehicle to make sure its as he claims and all of the numbers match, and he'd hand the bank cheque over and take it from there. The guy would not have a bar of this. Told him its payment only by credit card and i think he wanted the guy to have it freighted and not pick it up. Dodgy dealer or could this guy be legit? Sounds dodgy to me.

This is the reply I got to the email below that I sent hime regarding the car.....full of sh****

Hello there and thanks for your interest.
Firstly, I want you to know that I ended my auction early because of a buyer who assured me that he will purchase, but just bailed on me in the last minute. The price that I want to obtain is $10,400 AU (includeing shipping and insurance charges). I'm requesting a AU $5,000 REFUNDABLE deposit prior to transporting the car to your location and the remaining balance to be paid upon delivery, inspection and approval of vehicle.
The car is like new, everything is in perfect working order, low miles. 2004 HOLDEN HSV GTO model. It has always been garage kept and adult driven, never abused or raced . It is a AU model in compliance with AU emissions, clear title in hand, still registered in Australia and you will have no problem registering it onto your name. The car will be shipped via air freight from Zagreb, Croatia and it will take no more than 7 business days to arrive at your location.
This is a large purchase and I would suggest using a third party to complete this purchase as I want a smooth and safe transaction. We will use eBay Square Trade, I have completed quite a large number of successful deals using them. I have a Purchase Protection Account of US $10,000 and I assume you know what this means.
If you agree with these terms, please reply with your full name and address and eBay ID and I will consign the transaction at eBay asap.
Regards,

I am interested in the buy now car.

Can u supply more details..........................vin number, engine number, where is it located so I can fly up to view the car

Regards ****

I told them to report it to ebay management so this doesnt happen, but they dont see the need to do anything about it. Kept all correspondence but arent interested in following it up. Stupid in my opinion.

There was an XR6 Turbo for $12,000 in Zagreb,Croatia as well a few months ago....

Must be like Melbourne over there? XR's and Monaro all on the same streets with for sale signs on 'em

Next one we get we should say that we have a 'cousin' that lives in Zagreb and he will check it for us.....

this is a 100% scam, sounds like a seller last year who had a 2004 120hp 4stroke Honda outboard,my mate was going to buy and i convinced him not to but it was touch and go as he told my mate he would go through square trade and to do this just follow the link, was total crap, and deposit had to be at least $2000.
effin criminals.

These scams are so predictable and easy to spot, but there's so much of it that Computer newbies may get sucked in.

The crap just keeps growing on the Internet.
