Was a hell of a day to try and get a PB.. took till the very last run and still had a 17kph headwind.
I never expected to get close to a PB with that sort of wind so to get it was a bonus. Got to thank Rusty and Paul from G&D (and the rest of them too) for some on the run tweaks to the edit and intake to get it storming home. Nothing like haveing live data to finetune by! Thanks for the support guys. It may not me an 11 second beast but you always treat it like it is, thats what I love.

Amazing stuff with that head wind, can't believe that my ute ran a PB 13.14 @ 106.23 with a 12 year old girl in the passengers seat. I was having clutch issues all day (even had the clutch cooler from the funny car working overtime) and after eliminations were over i decided to just give it to the car and see what happens. I guess i am happy with that but there is so much more potential in this car with this set up.

Probably off to calder soon to wear some more tyres.

Cheers Craig

It is very quick for the size, would shock a few on the road...

Congrats on your PB, hope you come back for another meet soon.

that was a good run eh! .... the Lightning was dialled in at 13.3 allowing for the head wind (thats the story and am sticking to it)

you were within 0.0575 of your dial in
and we broke out by .1627 :

great race ing_sm congratulations

the Lightning ran a 13.2 with 2 on board and 70L of fuel .... like a brick in a wind tunnel

pb was a 13.1 @ 105 when this 100kg monkey got out
very pleased with the F150 ... now it is time for the edit and changing pulleys

great day

also I'd like to congrat my much much better half Meg for taking the phoon to a 13.39 on a 13.4 dial-in ...... lead foot !! :gren:

her pb was a 13.3 in the phoon with absolute street trim with 32psi and 3/4 of a tank and a soft edit for midrange

For a first outing I thought we didnt do too badly. We improved greatly with each run we both did & the old Sprint just kept on asking for more ;)

The only problem I had was in my actual race ........ I had been decreasing by .10 at a run as I settled in & then I dropped down by a .20 ..... dialing out in the process ..... hehehehe Best fun Ive had in ages :P

Now should my wonderful OH had have remembered that he had a few more gears to go through then his time & race results would have been top notch as well .... hehehehe

I spose were right in thinking that all we need to do is concentrate on our starts & then the times will slid

Hi mate,

The ute is a new acquisition, its a 200,000 klm old XR8, the motor hasn't yet been touched (factory 260) however we woke it up with the fitment of an Eaton M112 PD blower. It looks the part with the BF pursuit kit, courtesy of AWC.

We will be returning to NA duties with the Boss very soon....

Chris

That's a decent time Brad. You've got the defillipo system, Bluepower intake and custom tune right? What was your 60ft time?

I would like to add myself to the Personal Best list for saturday with a 16.147@87.38mph. I know its walking pace, but i was happy with it having not done anything the motor at all. And i only realised afterwards that i had forgotten to lighten it up, so i was running full street trim, spare and all! It looks like the new diff has done its job, coming down from 16.4's previously.

Thanks mate.....not quite sure of the 60ft time....for memory it was about 2.09 or thereabouts......I gave the timeslip to Chris on Saturday and forgot to get it back from him.

Was pretty happy considering my first time dragging the car and by all accounts a lot of people were a few tenths off because of the headwind.

And yes, Difillipo exhaust, Bluepower tune and CAI.

Cheers

Brad

Thats about the times I was doing...... Owen got a 16.01 in one of his runs & yes we emptied the boot only to realise on the way home that we actually left the spare in the boot too .......... :togo:

Yes Mark .... Owen was runner up and I am soooo proud of him ... he hadnt even seen a drag strip in the flesh until that morning .... a HUGE effort .......

Cant wait to see what this Sprint can do properly tuned & lightened properly

So the good old Boss motor is going a little stronger now. :

Not bad at all. Ford engines always last long. There are plenty of second hand XR8s with under 80 000ks... might find a good bargain soon.
