Default How safe are your kids

Driving home today was stuck on the Monash when I noticed two buses in the right lane, yes the other lanes traffic always moves faster, anyhow the first was full of school kids so was the 2nd, but to my horror the driver - mid 50s - was getting stuck into his lunch with a knife and fork on his lap.

I was speechless as he obviously did not have full control and concentration, even whilst we where doing 80 odd he was still getting stuck into his meal.

So I rang the bus company and asked that they ring the driver and tell to either pull over or stop chowing away whilst it had 40 odd children on the bus.

I kept up for a bit more, saw him answer the phone - no he didnt have hands free and very quickly pack everything up.

What an idiot, I hope he gets a decent rimming when he gets back into the office.

Driving kids around ffs and idiots like this have kids lives in their hands.. bah!

What a disgrace! i thought drinking coffee in a car by yourself was bad enough, but a whole meal, complete with knife and fork, driving school kids. It sounds very disturbing indeed.

I've just spent all day driving bus loads of school kids around, and I cannot believe anyone would be that stupid.
I was driving from 9am till 4.30pm and didn't get any lunch break.
Sure I was starving by the time I pulled into the depot, but there is no way I would even attempt that.

Wonder where the teachers were if they didn't see anything?
Though from our experience they never say anything to the driver, they ring the depot later and complain.

What's the odds that he'll just deny it to his employer anyway?

Sometimes hard evidence needs to be given to the bosses to get rid of idiots.

reminds me of the bloke i saw one morning who was beside me for about 5 minutes in traffic as we idled along at 5 km/h, he first made cereal, yes.... MADE cereal, bowl, milk, corn flakes, spoon. munched that down, then proceeded to pull out his tooth brush from his center console along with toothpaste, and brushed his teeth.
You know what the worst thing is? He didn't even rinse his mouth out after brushing YUK! Who the hell swallows their toothpaste!

You should have asked for more info about the destination of the bus, where it came from etc and inform the parents, or you should have called Mr Mitchell on 3aw, he loves to get into people like that.

You see some real strange things when your on the road all day, the best to date, was 2 junkies shooting up at the traffic lights in their car, not one word of a lie!

Try driving in peak hour traffic!. I have witnessed similar of both the incidents he spoke of.
The only difference was that the druggie i witnessed was in the back seat shooting up whilst there was a child of around 7 in the front passenger seat.
Travelling along Hoddle St Collingwood, which is one of the main Nth/Sth arterial routes through Melbourne.
Sights like that make your blood boil, you'd love to get out of the truck and give them "what for", but whats the point it would'nt achieve anything.

What a disgrace!

I think I saw the drivers son on the ring road a while ago...

Don't worry, he wasn't eating his lunch... He was only drinking from a southern 'n' cola can at the time!

Well as I am in Year 11, I still catch buses to and from school. It isn't unusual to see this kind of behavior by the bus drivers. Most of the drivers I have are miserable and probably couldn't care less about our safety, reading the paper or talking on the phone. So far this year I have had 3 close calls.

Thats disgraceful! A mate of mine I went to uni with, his brother was driving back from the snow when a cop pulled him over. He had the cruise control on, one food out the window, the other food steering, eating a burger with both hands whilst doing 130km/h!

Needless to say he had the book thrown at him

You mean the mandatory 30 minute break after 5 hours of driving didn't give you time for lunch?

Early this year i was driving my girlfriends new turbo astra to work in peak hour traffic, when i saw in the rearview mirror a guy in a beat up toyota reading the paper. Literally had the paper sprawled across the steering wheel, and was only looking up at the traffic once in a while. He had a couple of suprises when traffic slowed quickly (as we all know peak our traffic tends to do) and had to brake hard.

Ofcourse i got the hell out of that lane as quickly as possible. last thing i wanted was some ****er running up the *** of my missus 3 month old car!

hehe come to syndey, you'll see this and many other shocking things.

i had a guy next to me yesterday at kogarah, laptop open on his dash, papers in hand and all this whilst driving and on his phone (he had the rent-a-cop hands free thingy in his ear).

or the girls that have to put their make up on in the car while trying to drive. if they had a shower in the car they'd probably do that too.

I was following a VN commodore a few days ago. 100km/h country road, and they swerving all over the place. I called the police on 000, gave them the rego and description. 10 minutes later the cops turn up and pull them over. One less drunk scumbag on the streets.
Also in past had a ABC learning cente minibus go past me at 120km/h in 100 zone and Icalled the centre and had the manager rev the idiot up.
