Default Kia Stole BA Falcon front end!

Anyone think this looks exactly like a BA/BF (well bloody close anyway)?

Gee, looks like Mits 380/HSV/FPV/Lancer/Mondeo/Focus front end. They all look the same, so Kia stole it from everyone (or did everyone steal it from Kia???)

What I was thinking. I'm sure there is an Accord (either current or the the just previous model) with a near identical headlight profile.

The headlights have a Lancer feel about it, centre of the lower bar looks like a BA FPV crossed with the FG FPV bar, then there's the black surrounds of the fog lights that come from HSV.

Kinda looks like they went to the wreckers, bought a bunch of parts and ended up with this.

Yeah. I was mainly refering to the front bar. Headlights I reakon look like a Honda...

each to their own, but I look at it and just see Falcon... maybe I'm just feeling a bit Blue... lol

Not sure about the BA cues but keep an eye on KIA's designs.

Peter Schreyer is the head global designer for KIA and he used to be the designer for the VW/Audi group. His previous cars include >

Golf IV & Variant
Jetta
Passat B 5 & Variant
Lupo & Seat Arosa
New Beetle
Golf V & Golf Plus
Golf GTI & Golf R32
Jetta
Passat B 6 & Variant
Eos
Compact SUV

Audi A2
Audi A3 & A3 Sportsback
Audi A4 & A4 Avant + Audi Cabrio
Audi A6 & A6 Avant + Allroad
Audi A8
Audi TT & Audi TT Roadster

Quattro Spider
Audi TT & AUDI TTS
AL 2 & AL 2 open end
Steppenwolf
Allroad Quattro
Avantissimo
Rosemeyer

Murcielago
Gallardo

All very nice cars to look at.

It won't be long befroe other car companies will be copying KIA !

The badge is an oval shape, much like the BA's ford badge.

WTF would you jump from the VW/Audi Group to Kia..

Surely there is more job satisfaction designing Supercars than disposable cars.

Money would be one good reason ....... also wouldnt it be great to start with a blank canvas rather than sticking within constraints, keeping Audis & VW's corporately simular?

Correct me if I am wrong (no doubt some one will) but doesnt ford have some sort of stake in Kia, after all kia are test in Australia though Ford plus all the early laser, & festiva's were built by kia though mazda's guidance?

The Cerato the same as a BA/BF?! Here's some comparison shots I made up to show you just how WRONG you are.

I personally think it's a pretty tasteful looking thing, a mix of both the Civic 5-door (sold mainly in Aus, Asia and US) and the UK built Civic (only available in 3 and 5 door variants).

You certainly could be forgiven seeing a similarity between the FG G6E and the Cerato though!

Hows that BA? It's closer to FG.

But in reality it's a Honda accord rip off.
