As an L-plater, I am unable to drive a car unsupervised, and am unfortunately forced to catch the bus. The minimum age in the ACT changed within the space of six months, from 16 to 16 and 9 months, between August 2008 and February 2009. Now I'm curious whether a Honda CT110 (postie bike) needs a licence or not. Would it be a viable form of transportation for a 30min per trip commute to school? Is there anything else that I should look for?
Thanks bigdude1011 |

Just be thankful you dont live in QLD where you have to hold your P's for atleast 12mths before being able to obtain a motorcycle Learners Permit. Even then you have to be followed by a fully licensed rider everywhere you go.
You could always put a 49cc motor on your "pushie" dont need a license for that ;)

not sure on other states but in qld anything up to 50cc motor requires no licence so the postie bike (being 110cc motor) would count you out. Not 100% sure though. Check with the cops or department of transport.

A CT110 does require a licence in any state as they do have 4 gears as a motorcycle has gears too. You can however get a Postie bike licence as they do not have a lever activated clutch like normal bikes.
