Default Classic vehicle wanted for school formal - a plea for help please

My youngest daughter graduates year 12 next Friday 19 November. Unfortunately I don't have my car in a condition to take her and hoping someone on the forum might be able to assist?

The formal is at Brookwater, which is near Springfield Lakes. Ideally someone on the south west of Brisbane would be ideal. I'm happy to discuss money for fuel and pickup would be at 5.30 for a 6pm dropoff or we could meet at your place or somewhere in-between

Many thanks

John

I'd bring my Mustang down from the Sunshine Coast but you'd need to take a second mortgage out to pay for my fuel.............

I'm open to anything from the 30's to the 70's. It would be a great surprise for her

PM me if you're interested.

Glad Scooter could assist - I'd offer my truck, but I'm not sure that sends the right message for a school formal...

Onya, Neek, but then, any excuse to get into your little Gal would be fine. Trust me, I know how you feel! LOL. I'm taking one of my oldest friends' daughter to her formal on Friday in the coupe!

Sure did, Neek came to my daughters rescue in his shiny red on red 65 Galaxie Hardtop.

I'll be posting photo's very soon.

Neek, again I can't say thanks enough, my daughter was only one of a few who arrived in style

There was also from memory a 57 Belair, 63 Caddie convertable, LJ Toroana GTR XU1, LX Torana SLR5000

Not bad, not bad. Better than the BA stretch limo that flashed me on the way in. No class at all.

Back when I had my formal, I unexpectedly ended up going in a 68 Camero at the last minute through the parents of a friend. I think it was the best looking car there, although them being obvious GM fans I had to put up with a bit of Ford slander, but other than that the ride was fantastic. I know others decided to be funny and show up in vehicles like a Kenworth truck and a cardboard box with wheels painted on it.

I arrived in an 83 Telstar.

I think it was on fire at the time too, from memory.

Now *that's* classy, Dan. Not many young whipper-snappers can say they turned up to their formal in flames!

Did you do a skid, Peut?

I arrived in a V12 Jaguar, which was usually on fire.. At least it had a targa top so the smoke cleared pretty quickly.

I'm pretty sure doing a skid is still a condition of entry for the Goondiwindi Cultural Centre.

What a sexy young thing, only 45 years old. Keep an eye on her Neeek!

Oh yeah, get a shotgun Johny, the stick your daughter will be using to beat them off (and no, don't be rude) will only deter so many!

Good on you Nick, well done.

Johnny, (with all respect) your daughter looks great

If you look closely, there is actually a Galaxie in the photos!

Of course she looks good, she's a result of good breeding but I am a little biased. And now that she's graduated it's time for her to find a rich man who is happy to support his father in law.

Gawd, all I did was lend a hand with a car. Always happy to help, provided I can fit it into my schedule. If anyone else wants this sort of thing, feel free to PM me. Already got a wedding booking next year off the back of this thread..!

And Johny, might have to get that crate 410 I was thinking about before any heroics toasting the tyres. And an LSD (single spinner burnouts = fail!).
