Default AU Tickford/Momo parts

Hey guys,

Am a newbie to this area! I'm about to purchase an AU XR8 ute, and have started looking for all the bits and pieces I'm gonna need. Just wondering if you guys have any idea where I can find a Momo steering wheel, gear knob etc as they seem to be hard to find now!

I remember even 12 months ago there was a heap of stuff available on eBay but it's all a bit scarce now it seems, and was wondering if you had any ideas? Will definitely be around this area more often once I get the car!

Thanks for your help.

Cheers,
Julza

theres a lot of overpriced (IMO) tickford gear going around at the moment.. dont rush in to the first thing you see and get to know what you should be paying, not can be paying, for the items you want.. .a bit of patience will save you hundreds.

Gee whiz Phil ... where'd you get all those spare knobs from?

Haven't got any spare 9" Azzuros laying around in the back of that ute of yours have you?

Damn, I was after a black/grey one recently...

Surely as much as $200 (give or take) is probably about right as they're just so hard to get, especially in new condition.

Finally, a ball park figure to start with.. Thats pretty painfull, but not as bad as some of the stuff I go lookin for with the classic GT's.
Them ones, you dont wait to be told to sit down, you do it automatically, and then thank the part seller for turning the part into a proctological probe as he inscribes how much of your lifeforce the part will cost..

The plain black Momo equipment (knobs and wheels) are much easier to come by (IMO) and what I ended up purchasing for myself.

Next easiest to find is the metallic blue XR type. The sky blue, red and grey were T-series specific originally and are therefor much harder to find (and in turn collect more $$).

Seems that potential owners of the 'rarer' Momo equipment can basically ask whatever price they want. Most people know they won't be reproduced for many many years (if at all) and are NLA from Ford.

$200 is a fair amount of $$ for a knob in reality, but when you're looking for something as specific as a certain coloured, certain branded knob to suit one (or two) particular models you can no longer compare the items to a generic <$50 knob from ebay or auto stores.

Having the Momo leather wrapped knob and wheel in my opinion transforms the driving experience and is well worth the money.

Enough crap from me!
