I know it's just a spray can so this may be difficult, but what I would do is give the outer point of the tail lights another coat, so it meshes more with the car (never liked the outer edge of those taillights) and sort of fades lighter into the main section of the tail lights, if that sorta makes sense.

Hehe, you don't have to do it just cos that's what I would do. It's your car, looks good as is.

I used to live on Devon Street by the way. I'm not publishing the number on the net cos people I know still live there.

if your gonna go down the "removing mufflers route" id do it one at a time. lol. i know none at all sounds great, but is far from legal. really id save for a whole new system, but its up to you.

I got my AU done the other week. It's a 2.5 inch system, with one hi flow Lukey muffler. It sounds great.

That combined with a stainless steel tip, and you will be set.

ok cool,
peuty,
how much did that cost you installed, where abouts does the muffler sit? does it replace the rear muffler or what?
also i dont want a pathetic sounding exhaust..lol i want something which rumbles at idle and when you open it up it growls!

Yep, the sound you described is what I have. It cost me 300 installed with a Stainless tip. The muffler itself sits towards the middle of the car.

Sorry to thread mine, but can somebody tell me how you tinted your rear tail lights? How you did it, and what you use? Cost etc?

You buy this spray on stuff from Autobahn etc. Is tricky to do properly but from the pics the author of this thread did an awesome job.

Shav, it's called Niteshades, it comes in a spraycan. I still got a can somewhere in the shed. I bought it back when Cheap Azz Autoparts was still Rocca's.
Just mask of the taillights with tape and go crazy.

huge improvement! but does it give the lights a more matt finish rather than a shiny finish that the originals have?

I found a can of nite-shades while I was unpacking my stuff yesterday after moving. Cost me $14.80 years ago from Motormate and I used it on an XF I had. There's a warning on the can too, 'This product is for off-road use only'. I've never been asked by the cops about my factory tinted LTD rear lights on my ZK though.

It does give the lights a real matt finish and is quite hard to spray lightly as it dosen't atomomize very nicely so can come out a bit spotty. Maybe putting the can in warm water before spraying would help as it does with touch up paint or maybe even giving it a polish. A good idea to upgrade the bulbs as well depending on how dark you go.

Not on the computer and I don't have a scanner. It looked okay, mine was white with colour coded bumpers, so I colour coded the grey plastic bit and gave it a light tint.

Give your lenses a really light sand (i think I used 800) to help the paint adhere. I know w bloke who did it to his gf's car (rrreeeeaaalllllyyyy dark) but it would rub off a bit if you touched it.
I also did a few light coats and it came out really nice.
