It's got a HP meter in the dash ... tells you when you are using the full 1001hp ... or part thereof

Damn ... finally something that knocked the McLaren off the perch of quickest production car.

Meh, doesn't do much for me. Looks like a car they've just glued panels on for the hell of it. Give me the McLaren anyday.

That sounds like something Jeremy Clarkson will like. I don't know why they are like Wow look at the engine, since its covered in crap you can't actually see anything impressive, unless you like plastic.

Exactly ... I think it's a hot looking car.

Will be interesting to read more reviews and see how well it handles.

I cannot believe how many completely mathematically retarded people are on that site, and this one. The lucky few who have already driven this car have already stated that it will drive around to the shops just as easy as it will cruise at 300km/h.
And how can anyone say its useless around a race track?

This car has more grip than nearly any other car that can be put on a public road.
It brakes harder than anything else (405km/h - 0 in 13 seconds [part of which is over 2g... find me another car that can do that]), it accelerates harder than anything else official, and it will pull 1.3g of lateral force.

Now, tell me its useless on a track. :

I accept the challenge, Whats the braking distance of the Bugatti?

McLaren F1 LM held the record for 0-to-300km/h-to-0 again for some time

http://www.supercars.net/cars/3180.html This is slightly off the subject but this is the fastest production car around nurburgring.

I don't 100% know. I'd be guessing.

Well, its virtually impossible for you to do so regardless, because no other production car can travel at the speeds required for an air brake to have maximum effect. At 405km/h the air brake alone will add about 0.4g (just a practical guess based on what little I have done on airflow)....
Combine that with the downforce it provides on the back wheels allowing nearly 45% of the braking to be done by them, the increased braking force therefore applying more grip to the front wheels as well (it pretty much just sucks the car down, even though the downforce is only at the back) and you have one insane amount force building up...

Its all a combination thing. Nothing that I can think of (that is road worthy) has massive grip, massive downforce, an air brake, and is capable of the speeds required to make all of these come together cohesively enough to produce such increadible figures....

Think about it, 405 - 0 in under 13 seconds... Thats pretty insane...

Then again, a top fueler goes from 0 - 500 in 4.5s, which is even more insane...

well . in my opinion, ( and that is all this is , MY OPINION) this car is rubbish ! How many will they actually produce , and who can afford to drive one ! I see things a tad different to other people and BANG FOR BUCK " wise , the aussie and yank cars like the SS and HSV range , The XR 8 and 6 (T) , the mustang , corvettes, and the like are more realistic than these so called supercars! They might not go as quick or stop as quick , but they do 2 thirds of what these close to 1 million dollar or more cars do for much less! they are more accessable and more people will actually get the chance to own and drive one than these supercars , as well as be way more practical! Whats the use of owning the supercar shyte boxes if you cant even register them on the road in AUS ? well there is my 2 cents worth !

It did not remove Mclaren from the top spot, Koenigsegg had already done that. It is only a bit behind the Bugati, so I dare say they might try to make it a bit quicker.

Also the Koenigsegg has a Ford V8 in the back of it (supercharged at that), so we should all be supporting them over bugatti.

As a studying engineer, I support both.

Both are brilliant examples of engineering excellence. The Bugatti is one of the finest mechanically/mechatronically engineered feet in the automotive industry...

That is undeniable.

It weighs nearly 2 ton, it will chew those tyres out after 1 lap of the Nurburgring.
