Default Quick Easy Question about a fuel pressure regulator

hey guys,

quick question, a Fuel pressure regulator, is that the gold thing thats pretty much connected to the injector fuel rail, and has the fuel return and stuff going in?

ive got a XR fuel pressure regulator, and i herd it has 300ka compared to the standard of 2XX i think, wots the difference, in any? just better fuel pressure?

thanks!!

Higher pressures will cause the injectors to squirt more fuel in for the same ms of injector operation, It may sound good, but remember too rich will rob horsepower

These motors tend to pick up power by actually running slighly less fuel pressure than the stock reg in mild set ups.. Id lev the stock fuel reg on

so is it the gold thing connected to the injector fuel rail ?

and also, ratter you said that running rich will rob horsepower, but its just a XR fuel regulator, if they had that much of a fuel increase to make a motor run rich, then why did xr's have them??

The XR's fuel management system would be set to run correctly at the predetermined fuel pressure reading

Does the XR cam also allow more air in due to longer intake duration? This may cause the need for more fuel to match with this extra air let in.

and yeah it's the gold thing on the end of the fuel rail. Or begining actually as that's the way the fuel is flowwing.

XR engines are tuned for XR regs, but Ive seen them make more power when fitted with the standard regs.

As said above, running rich kills power, and almost all standard and mildly modified I6's run rich. The last thing you want is more fuel.
