Post 3.9 not 4.0

Sory boys in the last few days have worked out that my car is a 3.9 not a 4.0. Got a question to can you fit a ef-el mpi on this engine or will i have to get an ea-ed one?

well its pretty straight forward to bolt it on, but to make it work correctly you have to add the el ecu, and thats the tricky bit due to smartlock (unless you have it already like in an ed) so it has to bypassed or added, otherwise you will need after market ECU as otherwise using a frequency switch for the bbm runners does not allow proper fuel mixture and it goes very rich in the upper end of the revs, i.e. above 3,800 rpm

I should also add if you have cruise control you will have to get creative to allow it to function as the throttle connections need to be re-done.

bbm = Broad Band Manifold (the ef/el mpi manifold)

do a search on bbm* in e-series chat if you want to learn more, then post your questions you have left

why did you think it was a 4.0 ? the 4.0 was introduced with the EB series 2. I would just do a normal MPI conversion if I were you. I have a manifold and injector loom you cna have for a pack of winnie blues. :P Have a few other parts you might need to.

s1 eb did have 3.9L

honestly why bother with it all
i'd go buy the mpfi manifolds as stated and do that conversion BBM are easily fitted a pain to setup
i had bbm but due to the dude doing a dodgy setup etc i had it removed
back to mpfi for me easier to run n fix and do..

just go whack AU head on with EB MPFI and you'll be sweet
