I saw them at the Hungry Jacks on the start of the bruce highway at carseldine...

They all follow the leader its cheaper to buy NNNN like that for your car than mods. But however you pull up next to one and give them a drag 9 times out of 10 they are only running an exhaust whip em!!!!!!!!

They're everywhere at Melbourne. Doing mods makes the car individual, but when every single ricer is fitted with a cannon exhaust and altezza lights, it doesn't do a lot for individuality. Also, a Civic with $10,000 spent on aftermarket crap doesn't hide the fact that it's still just a Civic.

He would if he could afford it. They go for around $500,000 US, due to how rare they are.

Build a time machine, then go back to 1970 and you can buy one for $5000 brand new

Here in Canberra I see alot of ricers, but I equally see alot of cars that do have the balls to back up the looks, and also alot of cars on the other end of the scale, ie) Soarer V8 Volvo 245DL, 13B powered BMW 318i's, etc...

I fell in love with the one briefly seen in Running On Empty... That and the 60s corvette...

Then I drank the rest of my moonshine & lit up a drum rollie.

Not saying that R.O.E. is a bogan movie!

Dezza, I spose the same could be said for any bread 'n' butter car. But yeah, I'm not a fan of civics (apart from those cool twin carb late 80s boxes!)

I am a bogan.

Yeah it all depends...i hate those ricie blokes that buy an 82 corolla and stick a huge exhaust on it...then try to flog you at the lights....im getting madder at them all the time.
however when youre talking TT zx's or supras(late models)theyre a different story.
i could very well be persuaded to buy one.

At the college I live at, there is a guy owns a skyline with the typical ricer mods, massive exhaust, shiny wheels...
He also has central locking... and remote start.... and this is the funny thing...
When he sees people around, he will delibreately start the car from about 100metres away. Once I saw him taking groceries out of the boot, and he still had the car running... there were a few people around, and after he finished unloading the car, he began to walk away, and only when he was about 100m away did he try to turn off his car with the remote..., whilst holding the groceries. Wouldnt it be earlier to turn it off like a normal car?? It never ceases to amaze me what some of these ricers go through!

Turbo timer. Although nessecary if its racing hard, then 30 sec or so would be ok. If just putting around, and leaving it for 5 mins, thats just show off lol

Its actually the boxer engine something to do with the pipes off the manifold having irrelgular lengths or something like that..... Anyway i think it would be fair to say that most stock WRX's would have a fair chance of beating 80% of the e-series cars on this site and i cant think of any non-limited production e-series that could beat a WRX stock-against-stock.

But i think they are. People don't notice "sleeper" Falcon's or queitly spoken
Fords with factory inspired mods.

Instead ricers stereotype car people into people who like their exhaust to have excessive dB's, just idiling.

People who play music excessively loud with the windows down as if they think they are providing a community service.

People who paint their cars in colours that match the volume of their exhuast and stereo system.

You say they're innocent but, watch out. Following generations will want to emulate them and the general public will categorise genuine car fans as ricers. They are dangerous. Just as dangerous as VN and XD bogans.
