How the hell do you lock a Diff , Is it easy , more power better handling

You can lock a diff "CIG" locker - involves welding up the centre spider gears, not recomended as doesnt last, but good for a bush basher.
Detroit locker(or simular) involves pulling down the diff and replacing the centre of the diff with a locker centre. This is roughly how they work. Lockers dont allow your wheels (on the diff) to slow down when going around corners, so the wheels will break traction vey easily, sliding out very easily, scrubb tyres and depending how you drive can be hard on the rest of the drive line. I dont know about the rest of Oz, but in WA they are illegal on the street. Good for drags and the likes, as the power gets put to the ground evenly, unlike LSD(if worn) or open centre diff, where the power can go to the spinning wheeel and not enough gets transfered to the wheel with grip. For the street I would go for a tight LSD.

the only thing lockers are good for on the street is doing donuts, and then and lsd is better for everything else, so unless your a really really big fan of just doing donuts then go for it otherwise get an lsd. my mates got one in his datto and he does pizza deliveries, and yes he goes through second hand tyres in about two weeks, just driving no burnouts.
