Never heard of that before. I've certainly never bothered, but the exhaust note will change over the first 2 weeks or so - gets a bit deeper as it beds in.

News to me also. Sounds pretty strange to me to not flog the daylights out of a brand new exhaust system.

Never heard of this. All I know that after about a week it developed a nice crisp and deep note, which I love.

this is good to know, mine has been in a week and smells funny, but that goes away yes? cool. i've been flogging it. Someone answer, myself and a BA mate were cruising round town all day monday, he said that when i was taking off HARD from t junctions and things of the like he could see a liquid coming from my exhaust, another mate said that just fuel that hasen't burnt up yet, is it true? no way it was water.

its not fuel, its water.
Usually caused from condensation in the pipes when they are cold, it usually evaporates after a little while as the heat warms the pipes but often it can "pool" and come out the tip after quite a while.

Oh, its actuallywater that has enough crap in it from the exhaust to become a mild form of acid so dont drink it :

If you like reverse, need a 2 speed powerglide. Same gearing for first and reverse. My old mechanic mate proved it one time out in a paddock.
SCARY.

As for exhaust, flog the car, but not so much rally driving that you tear it off like I did once. DOH

lol, last time i was in gold coast, i went on that WRX experience thing where they let ya drive the two ex STi rally cars. daymn that is fun.

anyways, my exhaust came with just the pipe sticking out the back. do ya's think this is a good look or should i go find a shiny tip to chuck on?

Really up to you. Its just a looks thing. Personally I like the shiny tip, one of my few concessions to form over function.

if you can weld, then you are set... otherwise you'll need someone else to do it.

as others have said, no "run in" method, or anything like that for an exhaust, but as said after a couple of weeks or so it will bed in and change note a little.

Deffinately get a tip, nothing stupid, but just a nice oval or round tip just sets off the rear.

you dont really have to weld but it is probably a bit better, i welded mine. most come with a hole that u can put something through such as a big rivet, but if you do it may rattle a bit.

you dont have to weld but its probably better

Yip definitely happened with mine, was too scared to cane it for a little while but after a week or so the smell went and that luffly throaty sound came through, and yes get the tip. They put a nice shiny oval tip on mine...right off for a cruise lol laters all
