that flange is ok

the streangthe comes from the uni that ya put in there

dont get a cheap one

i have almost finished a metaloligy phd at tafe and this tells me that what ya looking at is a good flange

just a referance a good weld 1 inch long can hold 1.2 tonne all depending on the quality of the parent metal/main body of material you are welding

so if that is the 1 you are using it shouldbe o/k as it looks to be in real good nick

I have no idea what that is, but it looks metal, metal is good

Only thing I hate about the cold, I never want to wash the car.

So many possible flange jokes. Can't choose one...!

I talked to alot of people, and there are 8 second VL's running that style flange so they can't be that weak. Must have had a bad experience with a stinky flange in the past!

Shouldn't be able to pop this trans, keas is experimenting with transbrake valve bodies in the C-series boxes now (I think for ea_ba_turbo's car). So as soon as he is happy with them I'll probably upgrade. Be a nice change from a T5, which seem to pop without even trying... :(

I'm pretty sure you said that you got yuor bellhousing custom made at a place in Geelong to suit the C series box, any clues as to what place that might be? I was looking in a car mag andthey had a little snippet of a company that was starting to make them due to the high demand of e-series people turbo'ing their falcons, but they did mention a company either.

That looks like a serious wide open flange. When are you going to stick the bolts back in the flange!
Looking good John what is the ETA on it?

mmmmmm......hotness!

Do the people who did your bellhousing do only auto boxes? I need to fit a T56 to my car - I have been told that BA bolt pattern is the same as earlier models, so a XR6T bellhousing should fit, but I can't seem to find one....got any ideas?

Whats goin on wigga? Yeah I'm keen as to get back on the dyno and screw some extra HP out of it. Hopefully will be able to rev the bastard this time! Not sure how long, just got to pull my finger out and go see the new tailshaft people. Then sit back and laugh at Anthony trying to tune it!

ARE YOU READY TO UNLEASH THE F@CKING FURY?!

The bolt pattern is the same on the block, the bottom half is different though. So unless you are using an AU bottom-end you will need to either delete the bottom braces or make some up. The bellhousing I got is actually to suit an AU block because thats what I want to run on my next bottom-end, so I'm in the same boat. No big deal though. I figure Ford put them there for a reason.

As for the company, I can't remember the name but its the same crowd that makes the Racer Pro cylinder heads I think.

WIth the flange, maybe I should find a BA flange? I heard younger flange is always better?

They problem with the BA, younger flange is due to it being younger and tighter with less milage on it, it can be a tight fit to get it in. But one it is in there it is worth it, not having it slap around and possibly cracking and falling apart like an older flange.

Its a TCE, 9.5in Ford splined GM converter. Got keas to order it after discussing my dyno sheet at length. He's pretty damned switched on with that stuff so I left it up to him.
