Since last tuesday i've had a heap more time on my hands (quite my second job
 ). So now i have time to put a bit more effort into finishing the EA.Over the past couple of days with the help of John and Alex, we have been working on setting up the abs system on the car, mainly finding a place for the ABS module and making up a bracket to fit it. (We made up two brackets as the first wasn't anywere near strong enough). It has been fitted behind the drivers side headlight were the battery was, tho more pics of that will be posted when it is closer to completion. I've also started slowly hooking up things such as the heater hoses and running looms through the car (and anything else that needs to be done before bolting the intake manifold bake on). Tonight though i got a little impatient and thought i would dummy everything up to see ahead at what the engine bay will end up looking like. The results IMO are outstanding. I will be getting a few more things polished up, including the intercooler, blower bracket and maybe the front of the blower itself as they do seem to look a little dull compared to everything else. (the body of the blower could not be HPC'd as it is a bearing surface). The next couple of days should see everything bolted up for real, but in the mean time here is a preview of what will be expected ;)      Unfortunately I did find a few problems that will need to be fixed. First is that i will need to get new front slotted rotors as i currently have EA ones, but need EF/EL ones as i need a tone wheel for the ABS sensor. Second is that i MAY not have enough room to fit my current cold air induction in the rexy bumper. Everything is only loosely fitted atm so it may just fit, otherwise i will need to get a new one made up. Also, the bonnet bulge is finished, but we have decided to go one step further with it, but that's another story. I will post up pics of the bonnet shortly, but expect it to be a little different to the pictures when finally complete. Stay tuned for more progress pics ;)

hey steve have u got the abs axels and holes for the abs sensor in the diff? also for the front stub axles you will need ones from an ABS car as they have the holes for the sensor as well.
apart fron that looks like its coming along nicely

lookin great steve well done, how long do you recon it will be till you start to see the car going? also, is it me or is the firewall sprayed black? the break booster would look mint doin in the chrome or if not black with clear doing well steve, coming along nice ;) |

Looks great steve. Im not sure if this is true but I was told you can take knock the tone wheels out of discs. can you put tone wheel's on those discs?

All I can say is - "That looks ing fantastic"
If only my engine bay looked that cool, although it appears its time for a rebuild for me, so maybe some colour coding is in order How much did all that coating cost - if thats not a rude question. |

Steve: not sure on the diff having the required ABS stuff, the diff was originally an EF GLi Diff and so there wasnt ABS on my car (this is John btw) not sure how ford went about those aspects, maybe you can pull the disk off and have a look but it'd be worth double checking.
Engine bay looks stunning how ever with everything put back in, and with that colour it seems to look less cluttered. |
