Perhaps this:

Each participant selects a top three finishers, in order, for each round overall (not individual heat races). Points are awarded for each correct top three, with bonus points if placings match.

For instance:

My picks - Ambrose, Lowndes, Skaife

Results - Skaife, Seton, Ingall

I get points for skaife only, but no bonus points because i picked him in third.

If however:

Results - Ambrose, Lowndes, Skaife then I get maximum points for all drivers.
