Default Strange problem

This Morning after I had warmed up my XR6 for 15 minutes I had the strangest thing happen.

I had the car in reverse (Manual) handbrake off and I went to accelerate and the car wouldn't budge, then after a short burst of acceleration the car made a loud clunk and started to reverse.

it was about -6 this morning could the hand brake frozen from the extreem cold?

I have heard that if you are up in the mountains you dont leave your handbrake on because it will freeze over.

Yes the same thing has happen to me before. Now i don't bother using the hand brake anymore. It's been a very cold winter this year.

Maybe it's time for a fluid flush and replenish for the manual transmission.
Could be the handbrake though ... or your clutch was frozen as well.

I haven't had an issue out my way though ... have had many -5 deg C mornings.
Only thing that I had issues was my battery died and couldn't crank the LPG motor over.

Your brake pads will always touch your discs, and when you park your car, if it has a slight bit of water or dew on it, it will freeze over....

Or maybe you just ran over the cat.... :
