Default **Exciting news regarding Carbon Fibre**

Well I didn't even know these guys exsited until yesterday, but I am glad that they are here.

The guys at eQuibs (still trying to figure that out?) specialise in CF interior parts. And real CF parts, not the el-cheapo stick on stuff which I know you can buy for EL's atleast.

Here is a link were we can all put forward our views and interest.

http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthr...d=1#post868926

As you can see, roughly 40 people are needed minimum, I would like to think that we could do that pretty easy, and if not, then Im sure some people who are members at other ford sites (fordmods etc) can spread the word and post up this link.

I for one hate my woodgrain, and the steering wheel, so with some CF a good s/wheel is possible as it wont stand out like dogs balls. :ticking:

Im not really interested in doing the dash, what I would like done is:

1. Door Spears
2. T-Bar surround

3. IF POSSIBLE, get a LTD walnut cover form someone and do the rear of the centre console, the bit that goes around the light and vents?? Ill see if I can find a pic.

So who is in? Depending on the support I might ask a mod to copy this thread into The Pub so it gets more exposure.

I dont know about EA-ED's, but if the numbers are there anything is possible!

This is A1 stuff guys, heres a pic of the BA/BF products they have currently. I think it would be great to have some e series stuff out there, so it could be a mutual benefiting exercise!:

:

Price I guess is TBA, but I would think it woudl be cheaper than the BA stuff as we dont have to do the whole centre console etc etc.

So lets go guys, ill start:

EF/EL

LOL

I knew the rice thing would come out. I like sushi aswell but whatever. Haha.

Plus Im pretty sure BMW and Merc do carbon so it cant be that bad.

Um I cant remember, maybe around the $250 mark for the BA stuff, Im sure the site sponser will sort that out.

As for weight, you wont be saving much anyway I wouldn't think.

OK about price, I looked at that other thread in eQuibs section, $220 for 4 door spears.

We will see if we get the interest first I guess, then talk about $$$ later.

Al, I was looking at the thread in the AU section about this, but I don't think there will be enough interest with us E-Mutants - especially considering what it'd cost. I was going to go down the Modicoat route because this stuff will probably be double the cost; being the real-deal and all.

True, but theres nothing like the real thing

I was just interested in what others thought.

Not often that a manufacturer will do stuf for us, and 40 people isn't a huge call I would have thought.

Just to revive this thread, maybe there's still people interested?
I'd love an EF bonnet with the bonnet bulge.
And any plastic interior parts done in CF would be rad, including shifter surround, back of center console (maybe cup holders - with an improved design that don't fall down?, even the console lid maybe (that might be a tad extreme but)), around the air vents, stereo surround maybe (double din for me but), replacement trip computer front in CF (climate control too?), and the woodgrain strips on the door trim, carbon fibre ones of them!

Its alot better than the crappy "wood" in my ghia and other cars that happened to be graced by it.

But alas, this idea will go no where without numbers.

Personally I reckon that carbon fibre is the new woodgrain in terms of fashion trends from what I have been seeing in some high end cars...

yeah its a tough call. too much and its looks not so good. I was only going to do whatever is woodgrain in my car, so door spears and t bar surround.

I have been tempted to buy that kit you talk of though.

If you have fake wood in your car then you have some serious issues that you need to sort out. :
