I'm getting used to hearing about all these good times the F6 is recording. Its sort of makes me think its nothing special to run 11's and 12's these days. But I gave myself a reality check the other day and tried to think of modern supercar's 1/4mile times. The Typhoon will embarrass many exotics cars thats for sure. 11.1s is V8 supercar territory.
Simon, out of curiosity, what kind of dollars will get 11's?
Cheers.

Wow, these autos are really shining. It's a huge effort to run a 10 and shows just how good these really are. It going to happen very soon too by the look of it. Wishing now for the auto, but still like to shift manually........

Nizpro kit, was that the full rebuild with billet oil pump, valve springs, rods ect or just standard internals? I'd love to see it with your engine in it Simon. If you had a ZF with the M/Ts youd be easily in the 10s.

Mate, abaolutely awesome time and wel done on the tuning... Love the torque curve...

11.10 - stunning...

Software will be one key to smashing times (if we ever get it (and sadly stuck with crappa for a while yet)), stally will be the other key...

I am wondering, what are the real limits on these boxes?

Cheers

Bugger that throw it in an AU, surely they are lighter!

Can someone explain to me why the ZF Software hasn't been edited yet? Surely there is someone O/S that has figured it out.

Not enough time invested into R & D, as it isn't as easy as it appears to be...

I only said that because I am 99.9% sure that they put a N/A in the other week, surely the turbo gear could be dropped in easy enough.

Meh its ok.

So whats the main thing slowing up the cars with regards to the ZF? And what do you think will be the times being pulled with it edited? 9's?

There is no PCM software for the ZF transmission - Worldwide. Well I lie, there is one, but it was only released as a trial a few weeks ago..

The ZF tranny has it's own PCM, completely separate to the motors pcm.

SCT in the US are trying to develope/write a software package but it is time consuming and probably not a major concern for them.

What's slowing them up?? The fact that when you do a 'burnout' the transmission records a fault code. This then stops the car from operating normally at the lights. When I say normally, the car will either lock gear selection or have no throttle response.

The downside to this is the car cannot 'stall up' and create boost like the 4spd and other autos'.

There are ways of giving the ZF 'mis information' so it reacts differently, and a couple of other tweaks Simon has obviously sorted.

Where will they go? 9's are a very tall order, from any car. Remember once the ZF is sorted, CV's will start snapping and there is no option for strengthening the ZF box just yet. Stall convertor???

The fact these results are coming from such early development is credit to the tuner and driver. Everyone is working on a level playing field at the moment, so true tuning/driving talent is showing from those getting results...
