Default Loud fan Noise as accelerate

I've noticed with most Ed or around that era, that when the cars acelerate (i think it is) the fan makes a loud noise, not a streech or anything, asthough the fan is spining realyl really fast, is ther anyway to get rid of that? as Ive only noticed it on the Ford Ea n ED's

Yeah its called thermo fans from an EF or EL. What your hearing is the fan spinning when the thermo stat is at a certain temp. When the temp is lower the fan isnt as loud.

The thermo fans are a common mod along early e-series owners. Have a search and you'll find plenty of info about thermo fans.

im not very mechanically smart. is it the fans sitting just behind the radiator? infront of the engine.

edit: i worked out yes it is.
how much is it for a cheap new or second hand thermo fan.

The clutch kicks in at a rapid speed as the temperature climbs and the thermastat opens. If the noise is loud all the time that means the clutch fan is sticking and will need to be replaced. Fuel consumption increases too when the fan is spinning at these speeds. Themos are the way to go as there is no noise as such and fuel consumption decreases.

Thermo fans for starters!
Cost, around $100 - $150, depends where you get them from...wreakers, ebay, private sale. You'll also need wires and relays.

I'm sure someone on here can install them for you for a slab of beer!
